Adventurers - A Typical Day

At Springfields we endeavour to ensure that there are consistent structures and routines in place for our autistic learners as we know and fully understand the importance of this for our pupils. However, we also understand that everyday can look slightly different through the eyes of our learners and our Early Years staff are highly skilled and aware of how to support children in a variety of situations.

A typical day:

  • Morning Greeting song and Check in.
  • Fine and Gross motors skills activities including ‘Funky Fingers’ and ‘Dance Movement Time’.
  • Animal Therapy session (These will be on selected days)
  • PAS session (Physical and Sensory delivered by our PAS team)
  • Continuous Provision Activities to deliver the curriculum.
  • Singing/Music
  • Lunch - this will be eaten in the classrooms.
  • Attention Bucket/Sensory Bag.
  • Continuous Provision Activities to deliver the Curriculum.
  • Story Time
  • Home

We strongly believe that children need to access learning both inside and outside of the classroom therefore all our Continuous Provision Activities will be delivered inside the classroom and in our wonderful outside garden area. Our Early Years staff are highly skilled in delivering continuous provision through offering exciting and engaging learning experiences.
