Effective leaders are integral to positive school improvement. Research shows that school leaders can drive improvement through creating the culture, structures and systems that increase the quality of teaching and learning (Leithwood et al., 2019).
Although this programme focuses on positional leaders, the academy supports distributed leadership and the ethos that all employees are leaders within their classroom or working environment. Likewise, the academy understands that not all staff will wish to pursue a traditional leadership pathway. This is why we have created 'Reach Routes'- a range of pathways for staff that encompasses a range of skills, experiences and interests. You can find more about 'Reach Routes' within this section of the website.
