Pupil Parliament: Empowering Student Voice

At The Springfields Academy, we believe that every student should have a voice in shaping their learning environment and school community. That’s why we’re proud to introduce our 2025- 2026 Pupil Parliament, a dynamic group of student representatives from across Explorers, Pathfinders and The Routes, elected by their peers to speak up on behalf of their classmates. We also ensure that EYFS and Discovery pupils are supported in sharing their views, with adults helping to amplify their voices and ensure they are heard.
The election process was a fantastic example of democracy in action. Students campaigned for their place in Parliament, with some delivering passionate presentations to explain why they should be chosen. This gave everyone a chance to reflect on what qualities make a good leader and how we can work together to make school life even better. It also enabled all students to take part in a class vote.

Our Pupil Parliament meets regularly to discuss the issues that matter most to students. In Term 1, one of the key topics raised was the desire for greater input into the selection of lunchtime clubs. Representatives have been busy gathering ideas from their peers, and we’re already seeing the impact of their work. Thanks to their efforts, exciting new clubs such as Choir and Dungeons & Dragons (DND) will be launching in Term 2- a brilliant example of student voice leading to real change.
Pupil Parliament is more than just a meeting- it’s a movement. It teaches students about leadership, responsibility and collaboration. Most importantly, it shows them that their ideas matter and that they can make a difference. We’re excited to see what they’ll achieve next!
If you are walking around our school site, look out for Parliament Members wearing their Pupil Parliament badges!
