How we meet need



We personalise our approach to autism enablement and support to ensure that every child is able to access the curriculum at their level of challenge successfully. Every child has a one page profile and pupil profile which details their needs, strategies to support them and their current focus(es). 

Our autism curriculum pathways ensure all pupils access a stimulating curriculum that builds individual skills towards a 'safe, independent life'. We assess and track these skills for each pupil using our Springfields Autism Tracker. 

We take a 'therapy first' approach to a child's experience to ensure they have a strong foundation for learning and social communication development. Our Therapy Team work closely with education and care staff to ensure that therapeutic strategies are embedded throughout a pupil's daily experience. Our specialist knowledge within Communication and Interaction allows pupils to achieve their full potential both within and beyond Springfields. Our Physical and Sensory curriculum opportunities allow our pupils to access the world around them positively so they can be safe and independent in all aspects of their lives.
