At Springfields Academy, we are committed to nurturing the mental, emotional, and social wellbeing of every learner. Our approach is holistic, inclusive, and embedded across the curriculum.
🧠 Weekly Wellbeing Sessions
Each student participates in a dedicated weekly wellbeing lesson, designed around the NHS '5 Steps to Mental Wellbeing':
- Connect with others
- Be active
- Keep learning
- Take notice (mindfulness)
- Give to others
These sessions help students build resilience, self-awareness, and positive relationships.
💛 Kindness Curriculum Approved Users
We are proud to be approved users of the Kindness Curriculum — a research-based programme that empowers children through mindfulness and emotional literacy. The curriculum focuses on four key pillars:
- Concentrate: Training attention through creative and sensory mindfulness activities
- Calm: Learning self-regulation and understanding the brain–mind–emotion connection
- Connect: Building kindness towards self and others through social-emotional learning
- Create: Expressing emotions and applying mindfulness tools in everyday life
